The Hobbit- Review

So, I finished the Hobbit (admittedly over a week ago, but, time flies when you are busy!).

I really enjoyed reading The Hobbit, I knew I should have read it much sooner as it is a book that most people have read and so on, but, I just never go round to it before now. However, I did really enjoy it and found it hard to put down, I love the language that Tolkien uses in the book,ย it really draws you in to the story. It is also amazing this world that Tolkien has created, how he thought out every last detail and describes it beautifully so you can really create the images in your mind.

The characters were generally easy to like, I did not have a problem with any of them but did struggle to fall in love with any of them. I enjoyed being able to read from Bilbo’s point of view and did like him asย a character, but, I would have liked to have been able to get more of a feel for the other characters personalities too. But, there is very little to find to dislike in this book, if anything really, so, I can see why it has been so popular over the last 75 years.

Despite that point, I would recommend this book to anyone who has seen the films (I admittedly have only seen The Lord of the Rings trilogy and not The Hobbit) and enjoyed them, to anyone who likes book series such as the Song of Ice and Fire series (A.K.A. Game of Thrones series) or other fantasy style books.

The Hobbit

So, I am currently read The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien. It has been on my TBR (to-be-read) pile for a very long time now as everyone claims it is one of the books that you have to read at some point in your life.
So, I am now reading it and am just over half way through, I am really enjoying it, I would really recommend reading it (especially if you like the films or TLoTR films).
I am thoroughly enjoying the language and pace of the book and the world that Tolkien has created is just wonderful. He goes into such detail that it really bring his world to life, it is amazing to think that someone could create a world like he has. Hopefully it should only take a couple more days to finish and then I can post a full review!

Hello and welcome to my new blog.

This blog has been in the making for a long time, it has just been a case of actually sitting down and starting it that has been the problem because, as usual, life became too hectic. However, here I am, writing my first post so fingers crossed all goes well!

This blog is going to be a lot about book reviews as reading is my great love, however, being a first year at University also means that a lot of views on Uni life and things that are going on will probably slip in here as well, hence the tag line!

I think that is all I can really say for the beginning of this blog for now so,
